ROODHOUSE, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jacksonville, Illinois, woman, Samantha Wilson, has been identified as the victim killed in a Greene County crash on Monday Afternoon, according to reports.
Wilson, 49, was killed and her passenger, Jerseyville woman, Jezlynee Wilson injured, in a vehicle crash involving a pickup truck near US 67 near Cain St. in Roodhouse around 2:30 p.m.
Police say, Samantha Wilson was operating a vehicle on US-67, when for unknown reason, a pickup truck struck them head-on.
A pickup truck was going south and a car was driving north when the truck crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the Wilsons head-on.
The driver of the truck, 59-year-old Thomas Nail of Jerseyville, and two passengers in the truck, 43-year-old Fernanda Nail and 18-year-old Toao Nail of Jerseyville, were not injured.
It was snowing at the time of the crash, and the road was covered in snow but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Thomas Nail was issued citations for driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage, reports WAND.
