PEKIN, IL. (THECOUNT) — Sarah Seybold of Peoria, Illinois, has been identified as the inmate found unresponsive Sunday night at the Tazewell County Jail, according to local reports.
Seybold, 41, was found unresponsive in her cell after 8 p.m. Sunday, said Sheriff Jeffrey Lower.
Seybold was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Earlier that day, Seybold had been arrested by East Peoria police on possession of controlled substance charges.
Seybold had been paroled over the summer after serving sentence for forgery.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., she was booked into the jail on charges of possession of controlled substance.
The death is being investigated by the Illinois State Police, as well as the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office, reports PJStar.
