NOLAND COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Joann Palacios and Juan Palacios, of Crosbyton, Texas, and Bryan Pesina, have been identified as the victims in a triple-fatal crash near Sweetwater, Texas, Sunday night, according to local reports. Katerina Pesina was critically injured in the crash.

According to officials, Joann Palacios, 43, was operating a vehicle on TX-153 with passengers, Juan Palacios, 64 and 22-year-old Katerina Pesina, when they were struck head-on by another vehicle driven by 20-year-old Bryan Isaac Pesina.

Pesina was reportedly attempting to pass a truck-tractor with a semi-trailer in a no passing zone when the fatal incident occurred Sunday after 6:30 p.m.

Katerina Pesina was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with critical injuries, reports 1077FM.

The cause of the deadly crash remains under investigation.
