KOSHKONONG, MO. (THECOUNT) — Carolyn J. Edwards, of Thayer, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a fatal head-on vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler near Koshkonong Thursday night, according to Friday morning reports.

Edwards, 48, was killed when a vehicle she was operating collided head-on with a semi-truck driven by Jonesboro, MO, man, Steven A. Chamness.

The crash occurred after 6:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 63 in Koshkonong, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to local reports, Edwards was operating a Kia Rio on Highway 63 near Koshkonong, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and in the path on oncoming traffic.

Edwards’ vehicle then collided head-on with 47-year-old Chamness Freightliner truck.

The MSHP Major Crash Investigation Unit, along with the Oregon Sheriff’s Department, Thayer Police Department, and the Thayer and Koshkonong Fire Departments all responded to the scene, reports KAIT8.

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

According to Facebook, Edwards worked as a “Neurodiagnostic Technologist at Ozarks Medical Center.”
