TEMPE, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Tempe Police were forced to taser a man in his home while responding to a domestic violence call, according to a Youtube video.
The officers can bee seen deploying their tasers after the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Ivaughn Oakry, ignored multiple commands to put down a child who he appeared to be holding like a shield.
The event was captured on an officer’s body-worn camera.
On June 15, Tempe PD officers, responding to a non-emergency call, entered Ivaughn Oakry’s home without a search warrant or consent. Once inside the home, they held Mr. Oakry and his three children at taser point, and tased Mr. Oakry, multiple times, while he was holding his one-year-old infant son. Because Mr. Oakry and his one-year-old son had skin-to-skin contact, electricity from the taser passed through Mr. Oakry’s body and into the body of his infant child.
