SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (THECOUNT) – Joshua Ray Burks, a veteran Southern California police officer, has been killed in an off-duty vehicle crash in San Bernardino, according to reports.
Officials say Burks, 40, was operating an SUV, when for unknown reasons, he crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then struck a substantial tree early Saturday.
The crash occurred in San Bernardino, where he resided.
Burks was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Reports says Burks had been with the Ontario Police Department for two decades, reports WashingtonTimes.
