UNION TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — James Hayes has been identified as the suspect arrested after allegedly shooting his wife Jeanette Hayes dead in Union Township, Clermont County Wednesday night, according to Thursday morning reports.

Hayes, 55, Jeanette’s estranged husband, was arrested and charged with murder in a fatal incident that occurred at Spotswood Common Wednesday night.

Police responded to call of shots fired Wednesday night. When they arrived they discovered Jeanette, also 55, suffering from a pair of gunshot wounds while at Spotswood Common near Batavia, OH.

Jeanette Hayes was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

James Hayes is due in court Thursday, reports Local12.

Investigators have not said what led up to the murder.
