MORTON COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Edgar Rodriguez and Juan Fraire, both of Hugoton, Kansas, have been identified as the victims in a fatal crash in southwest Kansas on Sunday, according to reports.
Rodriguez, 16, died in the crash and Fraire, also 16, was seriously injured, following a vehicle crash in Morton County near the intersection of CR-Z and CR-27 on Sunday evening.
According to reports, the pair were traveling in an SUV, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines, exited the roadway and rolled over around 6 p.m. Sunday.
Rodriguez was ejected from the vehicle during the violent collision.
Both teens were transported to an area hospital where Rodriguez was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating.
