DODGE CITY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Two employees suffered burn injuries in an explosion at the Cargill Meat Solutions facility in Dodge City, Kansas, Thursday morning, according to reports.
Officials say, the explosion occurred near a small stand-alone building and left a pair of employees with unknown injuries.
The blast caused the company to suspended production Thursday.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
Cargill officials released a statement on the incident:
“We are grateful for the partnership of the local emergency medical response team. Our focus is on the safety of our employees and getting the best care for our colleagues,” said Daniel Sullivan, media relations director at Cargill, reports KSN.
Cargill said they expect to be operational soon.
Cargill Meat Solutions is located on U.S. 400 in Dodge City, Kansas.
The extent of the worker’s injuries was not provided.
