POLK COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Paul E. Pinegar, of Urbandale, Iowa, has been identified as the victim killed in a rollover crash in Polk County on Tuesday evening, according to reports.
Pinegar, 64, was killed while operating a vehicle on Interstate 80 in Polk County Tuesday evening before 6:30 p.m.
The fatal crash occurred near the 133 mile-marker on westbound I-80 around 6:23 p.m., reports WHO.
The Iowa State Patrol says, Pinegar was parked on the shoulder near a construction site, when for unknown reasons, his Jeep rolled into a ditch, partially ejecting him from the vehicle.
Pinegar was pronounced dead on the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The investigation into the accident remains open.
