TALBOT COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Abundant Life Christian parishioners in Laurel, Delaware, are mourning the passing of their beloved pastor, Shawn Willey, who was identified as the man killed in a boom truck crane crash on Monday, according to reports.
Willey, 46, was killed in a vehicle-crash Monday near Easton, Maryland, after a boom truck crash he was operating crashed on Route 329.
The Christ Evangelistic Church is located on Seaford Rd, in Laurel, Delaware.
According to Maryland State Police, shortly before 8 a.m., Monday troopers were dispatched to single vehicle crash on southbound Route 329, just south of Loves Folly Farm Road near Easton, Maryland. When they arrived, officials determined that Willey failed to negotiate the curves along Route 329, ran off the road, and struck a sign, a telephone pole, and then overturned on the passenger sides near the woods.
He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, reports WGMD.
Following news of his passing, Abundant Life Church rallied together to remember their beloved Pastor, sharing photos and their marquee sign which now reads: “In Loving Memory of Pastor Shawn Willey.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
