PIEDMONT, SC (THECOUNT) — Royal Christopher Oliver Hall, of 107 Gadwall Dr., in Easley, SC, has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 85 near Piedmont Thursday morning, according to reports.

Hall, 35, was killed early Thursday morning by a semi-tractor while on-foot on I-85 Thursday morning.

The coroner says he was called to an accident on I-85 2:50 a.m. for a pedestrian who was hit and killed, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner says it happened near mile marker 36 in the southbound lanes of I-85 near the Highway 86 exit, reports FoxCarolina.

The office later identified the victim as Hall of Easley. According to the office, Hall apparently tried to cross the interstate from the southbound lane to the northbound lane, but apparently was struck in the fast lane.

The investigation is still ongoing.
