COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA. (THECOUNT) — Zachary Crombie Presberg has been identified as the victim in a western Iowa crash, according to reports.

Presberg, a 22-year-old volunteer with Democratic presidential candidate for the campaign of Elizabeth Warren, died in a crash while operating a vehicle in western Iowa.

The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office say, Presberg was traveling in a vehicle on U.S. Highway 6, when for unknown reasons, he collided with two trucks as he tried to pass one of them.

A statement from Warren’s campaign says Presberg joined the campaign this summer after graduating from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, to organize voter meetings and build relationships in Cass County. He continued his service to Warren’s campaign as a volunteer after his fellowship ended, reports KWWL.

Elizabeth Warren said in the statement that she and her husband “are heartbroken over Zac’s passing” and added that “Zac represented the very best of us.”

Presberg was a native of Piedmont, California. According to social media, he worked at Lawrence University and formerly worked at Caritas Collegium. He graduated Piedmont High and lived in Atlantic, Iowa, according to Facebook.
