ARCHER COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Sandan Foster, of Idalou, TX, has been identified as the victim killed Tuesday afternoon after a tanker truck exploded at a Windthorst gas station.

Foster, 31, the driver of the tanker truck, died after an explosion at Joe’s Kwik Stop on U.S. 281 around 1:30 p.m. Authorities believe the tanker truck possibly exploded after it was unloading fuel from its truck.

Foster was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:30 p.m.

Archer County say Foster worked for a Lubbock petroleum company but did not indicate which one.

At this time, the sheriff’s office is investigating this as an accident, reports TexomasHomepage.

Volunteer fire departments from Scotland, Windthorst, Arrowhead Ranch Estates, Lake Arrowhead, and Bowman, along with fire departments in Wichita Falls and Sheppard Air Force Base all assisted with the fire.

Officials believe the incident “could have been much worse,” if it wasn’t for the fast action of volunteer firefighters.

A Facebook donation page is now available for those who want to help Foster’s family with funeral arrangements.

Hello friends!
We’re raising money to help a close friend from college.
She recently just lost her husband due to a tragic accident.
We want to raise enough to cover funeral costs and anything else she and her baby boy needs.
Everything we raise of course, will be given to the family of Sandan Foster.
Anything will help, thank you for your support!
I know The Foster Family will be very grateful!
