GREENSBORO, NC. (THECOUNT) — David Wayne Gilbert of Liberty, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Motorcycle-verses-auto head-on crash Saturday morning.

Gilbert, 43, died in a fatal head-on crash in Greensboro Saturday morning, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.

Gilbert was traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 421 Access Road, in Greensboro, NC, when he was involved in a collision with a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 21-year-old Shaniyah Sawyer of Elizabeth City.

Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Sawyer and a passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, reports MYFOX8.

No one was cited at the scene.

The GDP investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
