BRUNSWICK, GA. (THECOUNT) — Cameron Johnson has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Brunswick, Georgia on Friday night, according to reports.
Johnson, 20, was found by police suffering from at least one gunshot wound in Brunswick on Friday around 10:30 p.m., say officials.
The Brunswick Police Department say they responded a report of shots fired on Ellis Street Lane between P and O streets in Brunswick Friday night.
When they arrived, they discovered a young man unresponsive in a pool of blood.
Johnson was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
The victim’s family identified Johnson to local members of the media late Friday night.
Johnson lived with his adoptive grandmother to take care of her, said family members.
Johnson had been out with friends and that the situation stemmed from a fight over a girl, although police have not said what led up to this shooting, reports News4Jax.
At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspect information was provided by officials.
