STATEN ISLAND, NY. (THECOUNT) — Audrey Lorber, of Staten Island, New York, has been identified as the teen arrested at St. Petersburg airport in Russia with a small quantity of marijuana, according to reports.
The Staten Island teenager was arrested for marijuana possession in Russia has only been able to talk to her mother through a pane of glass with a translator present at the prison where she is being held, according to reports.

Lorber was taken into custody after she was found at the St. Petersburg airport with less than an ounce of the drug, according to a statement from the St. Petersburg court system, reports SILive.
As first reported by the english-language Moscow Times, authorities found Audrey Lorber had documentation showing the marijuana was for a medical program in the United States, but the statement said it was invalid in the Russian Federation.
The law Audrey Lorber is accused of breaking, Article 228 of the Russian Criminal Code, carries a maximum three-year sentence; however, can also carry lesser punishment, including a 40,000 Rouble fine (approximately $600), a compulsory work term of 20 days, or a corrective labor term of up to two years.
