DES MOINES, IA. (THECOUNT) — John Lee Belcher has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Des Moines on Saturday afternoon, according to officials.
Belcher, 45, was found suffering from at least one gunshot injury while inside a Des Moines residence, located at, 1930 Francis Ave.
Police responded to reports of shots fired on Francis Ave 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived Belcher was already dead of apparent gunshot injuries.
Police arrested Stanley Paul Wofford, 47, of Des Moines for first-degree murder, reports KCCI.
Police did not say what may have led up to the deadly incident.
He is being held at the Polk County Jail on $500,000 bond.
