Upon arrival, an unidentified man was located face down on the ground, according to Lynn Fire Capt. Joseph Zukas.
Officials assessed the man, observed his severe injuries, and made the call not to transfer him to an area hospital, he said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries consistent with a fall.
“Our goal is always to try and work someone if we can, but from what I’m being told by the first responders who were at the scene is the injuries were extremely severe,” said Zukas. “They taped off the area and turned it into a crime scene,” reports ItemLive.
The incident is now being investigated by the Lynn Police Department, he said. They are unsure if the fall was accidental or if foul play was involved, Zukas added.
The victim’s name has not been released pending family notification.
Anyone with possible information on the death investigation may contact police at 911.
