COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Indianapolis man, Larry Hazel, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Columbia County on Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says, Hazel, 36, died after being struck by a vehicle while on US 41 and NW Kelly Lane in White Springs on Thursday morning after 5:30 a.m.
Troopers say, a vehicle was traveling on US 41 as a pedestrian, when for unknown reasons, Hazel, who was on-foot, entered the roadway and into the path of the vehicle, causing the two to collide.
Officials say the car came to a controlled stop on the roadway, while Hazel fell in the center of the roadway, reports WCTV
