Louisville Man Edward Holt ID’d Motorcyclist Killed After Striking Pedestrian Standing In Roadway

LOUISVILLE, KY. (THECOUNT) — Edward Holt, of Louisville, KY, has been identified as the motorcyclist killed after striking a pedestrian who had entered the roadway on Friday night, according to reports.

Holt, 36, died after colliding with a pedestrian, who for unknown reasons, walked out in front of two motorcycles traveling on a poorly lit section of Bardstown road, near Porter AD & Sons Funeral Home.

The accident was reported around 11:30 p.m. Friday on Bardstown Road, near Havenview Drive.

Holt suffered multiple blunt force injuries sustained when he was thrown from his bike.

Police said, the pedestrian was reportedly not in a marked crosswalk.

Holt and the pedestrian were transported to University Hospital.

Holt was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The pedestrian is in critical condition, reports WLKY.

The pedestrian’s identity was not provided by officials.

The death was ruled as accidental, however, it was unclear if the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road when the collision occurred.

The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating.
