BROOME COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Peter Vasilopoulos, of Apalachin, NY, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash near Endwell Sunday.

Vasilopoulos, 26, was killed after the motorcycle he was operating struck the rear of a slower moving vehicle while traveling on NY-17 Sunday evening.

The force of the crash sent Vasilopoulos flying off the bike causing him to suffer multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly motorcycle crash occurred on Route 17 in the town of Union, near Endwell, on Sunday.

Deputies say the occupants of the other vehicle involved were not hurt in the collision.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit was on-scene, reports WBNG.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
