ELKHART, IN. (THECOUNT) — Knesha Carruthers has been identified as the suspect arrested in the stabbing death of Elkhart, Indiana man, Jimmie Gillam.
Carruthers, 33, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of her husband in Elkhart around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Elkhart police.
Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street Saturday.
When officials arrived, Gillam, 33, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Gillam was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of his injuries.
An investigation led police to believe that Carruthers was responsible for Gillam’s death.
She was arrested Saturday afternoon and charges are expected to be filed Wednesday. Her initial hearing is expected to be held on Thursday, reports SouthBendTribune.
