HARPERSFIELD, NY. (THECOUNT) — Dominick P. Leone of Oneida, NY, has been identified as the victim in a fatal submersion vehicle wreck in Harpersfield, NY on Tuesday.
Leone, 56, was found deceased Tuesday morning after members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and Hobart Fire Department and Emergency Squad responded to reports of an overturned car in a stream on Gun House Hill Road in the town of Harpersfield.
Leone was operating a vehicle around 7 a.m. on Gun House Hill Road in Harpersfield, when for unknown reasons, he crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.
He vehicle then entered a culvert that caused the vehicle to flip over before coming to a rest upside down in a stream.
Leone was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash remains under investigation, but officials do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors, reports WBNG.
