SWANTON, VT. (THECOUNT) — Ryan Charbonneau has been identified as the victim killed in an equipment accident at a Swanton, Vermont gravel pit earlier this week.

Charbonneau, 32, died in an accident at a business he owned, Northeast Aggregate, in Swanton.

Charbonneau was pronounced dead at the scene, located at, Northeast Aggregat, 69 Pond Rd, in Sheldon, VT.

Vermont State Police say an autopsy conducted by the Vermont Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Charbonneau died from blunt force trauma to the head and crushing injuries to his torso and extremities.

Few other details were provided in the fatal incident. Swanton Police have ruled it an accident.

The federal Mine Safety and Health Administration is still investigating, reports MyChamplainValley.
