UT 6-Year-Old Aria Hill ID’d As Victim Killed After Struck In Neck By Dad’s Golf Ball At Orem Links at Sleepy Ridge

OREM, UT. (THECOUNT) — Aria Hill has been identified as the 6-year-old girl killed after her father accidentally hit her in the neck with a golf ball at a Orem, Utah course Monday morning.

Aria was visiting Links at Sleepy Ridge golf course in Orem with her father when the tragic accident occurred Monday. She was reportedly seated in a cart at time she was struck in the back of the neck by her father’s errant tee-shot Monday morning.

Aria was about 20 yards away from her father Kellen Hill when she was struck by the ball while at the course located at 730 S Sleepy Ridge Dr, in Orem, UT.

“The ball struck her in the back of the head, at the base of her neck,” said Orem officials.

Colledge shared that the cart was neither directly behind nor directly in front of Aria’s father, adding that it was between 45 and 90 degrees to her father’s left.

Aria was transported to an area a hospital and then flown by helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

She passed just before 9:30 p.m on Monday.

According to the girl’s uncle, David Smith, little Aria enjoyed watching her father golf and was often his ‘golfing buddy.’

“She loved doing it and had a good time with it all,’ Smith said to KSL. ‘That was one of their things that they would do together. It was something that was really important to them and something they did all the time,” reports DailyMail.

Colledge said police are investigating but are not planning to pursue charges.

“It’s an extremely tragic accident,” Colledge said. “I can’t imagine what that father is going through.”

A GoFundMe has been made for the girl’s memorial fund. It has raised just over $12,000 of its $25,000 goal.

‘We are so grateful for all the love, support, and prayers made in our behalf during this difficult time,’ the girl’s mother, Talysa Hill, said on the fundraiser.

‘We’ve truly felt comforted. Aria was the sassiest girl in the world. She was silly, spunky, creative, unique, and so so full of love for everyone she came in contact with. There is a huge hole in our hearts that she has taken with her back to Heaven…Fly high my little angel’
