VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (THECOUNT) — A body in the ocean near False Cape, Virginia Beach, is believed to be that of missing man, Rabbi Reuven Bauman.
Bauman, 35, was last seen at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday off the coast of the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge when he rescued a 13-year-old who got caught in a rip current while on a school trip.
Search and rescue crews found a body they believe will be identified as the teacher who went missing while helping a teen.
The Coast Guard suspended its search for Bauman on Wednesday, but search and rescue crews continued their efforts and turned up a body “presumed to be that of the missing swimmer” on Sunday at around 2:15 p.m., police said in a news release, reports PilotOnline.
A positive identification is expected to be made by the Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
