MANCHESTER, MD. (THECOUNT) — Taylor L. Smith has been identified as the Salisbury, Maryland woman killed in a Manchester single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, according to Maryland State Police.

Smith, 23, was operating a vehicle on Hanover Pike (Main Street) in Manchester on Saturday morning, when for unknown reasons, she crossed centerlines, and exited the roadway. Her Pontiac Torrent then struck a utility pole, say MSP.

Troopers responded to a reports of a single-vehicle crash shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Hanover Pike south of Cape Horn Road.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the crash.

State police said Smith had been traveling south on Hanover Pike when her car, a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, moved off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole, reports BaltimoreSun.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
