Massive Upper West Side Midtown Manhattan Power Outage No Traffic Lights Subways Dark

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan. (THECOUNT) — A large-scale power outage is impacting Upper Manhattan and Midtown.

Con Edison’s outage map says that 27,522 customers are without service across Midtown and Upper Manhattan, reports ABC7NY.

No traffic lights working and we even lost power here at the station.

NYPD is directing traffic manually at intersections with dark traffic lights.

The MTA says outages are reported at subway stations throughout Manhattan.

Subway service is limited into Manhattan from Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.

FDNY says they have numerous elevators stuck around the Upper West Side.

No official word on what has caused the power outage, but there are reports of a transformer fire at 64th street and West End Avenue.
