NASHVILLE, TN (THECOUNT) — A 17-year-old driver is said to have been involved in a Thursday morning crash that took the life of on-duty Nashville Metro Police officer, John Anderson.
Anderson, 28, was killed after his cruiser collided with another vehicle in a fatal early morning crash near Nissan Stadium in downtown Nashville.
Anderson’s cruiser was traveling on Interstate Dr. & Woodland St. after 3 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by an unidentified 17-year-old driver.
The Metro Nashville Police Department announced that they are mourning the death of one their own:
“It is with extreme sadness that the MNPD confirms the on-duty death of Central Precinct Officer John Anderson, 28, a 4-yr MNPD veteran,” said a statement from Metro police on Twitter, source Tennessean.
