PIMA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Lydia Carter and Benjamin Chavez have been identified as the victims i a double-fatal crash in Pima County Saturday night.
According to Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Chavez, 41, and Carter, 53, were killed in a motorcycle versus truck collision near the intersection of E Roller Coaster Rd, and N Grande Ave, in Casas Adobes, AZ, at around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Thomas Waites, 69, was arrested at the scene two counts of manslaughter, criminal damage and driving under the influence.
Chavez and Carter were initially found with critical injuries sustained in the incident, reports KVOA.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Carter was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
