WICHITA, KS. (THECOUNT) — Jose Elco Vasquez has been identified as the victim in a fiery South Wichita vehicle crash Friday morning. A 9-year-old girl was also injured in the single-vehicle crash.
Vasquez, 39, was killed early Friday morning after a pickup truck he was operating crashed while traveling in the 2300 block of S. Hydraulic in South Wichita.
The victim was operating a pickup truck with Arizona plates on S. Hydraulic, when for unknown reasons, the truck crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.
The truck careened through a fence before colliding with several large trees. The vehicle then burst into flames.
The 9-year-old girl also inside of the crashed truck suffered only minor injuries, reports KSN.
The crash remains under investigation.
