LEAGUE CITY, TX. (THECOUNT) — River Russell has died in a League City hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in League City, Texas, on Monday, according to reports Wednesday.
Russell, 19, was believed to be riding a skateboard when he was struck by a vehicle traveling on FM 270 in League City between 2:45a.m. and 3:50 a.m. Monday.
Police were called to the area for a “welfare check” and found Russell there, near a “debris field” that included his personal items, including a skateboard, reports GalvNews.
The victim was discovered lying injured in a nearby ditch.
Russell was transported to an area hospital where he died today of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call investigators at 911 immediately.
