JAMESTOWN, SC. (THECOUNT) — Alton Hawkins Jr., of Jamestown, South Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle Thursday night.
Hawkins, 63, was on-foot in the area of the 3800 block of North Highway 17A in Jamestown after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.
Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the collision.
Police say they are seeking the driver but offered no vehicle description.
