LIGONIER, IN. (THECOUNT) — Richard Miller, of Topeka, Indiana, has been identified as the man killed Tuesday night in a vehicle crash while operating a bicycle in Ligonier.
Miller, 23, was riding a bicycle when he was struck by DUI driver, Faron Yoder, of Ligonier, on Tuesday after 9:30 p.m. in Ligonier.
Yoder, 24, was operating a Nissan Altima when he hit the bicycle rider, and continued before exiting the roadway and striking a utility pole head-on.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Yoder did not suffer any apparent injuries in the crash, but was unresponsive and transported to an area hospital due to a high level of intoxication, according to KPCNews.
After being treated, Yoder was transported to the Noble County Jail and held on a charge of operating while intoxicated causing death, a Level 5 felony.
Yoder is facing between one and six years in prison if convicted of the Level 5 charge.
