INDIANAPOLIS, IN. (THECOUNT) — Clark County judges, Andrea Adams and Bradley Jacobs, have been identified as the victims injured in a shooting in a downtown Indianapolis White Castle parking lot early Wednesday morning.
Judge Jacobs is in critical conditions and Adams is listed as stable, reports say.
Adams and Bradley are in Indianapolis to attend an educational conference.
A statement from the Indiana Supreme Court reads in part: “Our judges across the state are heartbroken to learn of this violent act against our colleagues. We send our prayers for a speedy recovery for both Judge Jacobs and Judge Adams and our love and support to their families and the Clark County community,” reports WTHR.
Investigators say an argument started around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the White Castle near Illinois and South streets, about two blocks away from Lucas Oil Stadium.
The fight escalated, and resulted in the two judges getting shot.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Jeffersonville plans a prayer vigil for the men tonight at 7:30 p.m., the Rev. Dr. Nancy Woodworth-Hill told our partners at the News and Tribune.
Detectives are looking for surveillance cameras in the area that might reveal clues into what exactly happened.
