HENDERSON, KY. (THECOUNT) — A pair of North Carolina men have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal plane crash Wednesday in Kentucky.
State police say, 47-year-old Barry A. Hill and 48-year-old George Tucker, both from Sanford, died in a small plane crash in Henderson.
Officials say the plane was possibly stolen. Neither man was licence to operate a plane. They were flying was from Rome, NC.
Two men were found dead in the wreckage Wednesday morning at the Henderson City-County Airport, located at, Kentucky 136, Henderson, KY just after 7 a.m.
State police say neither Hill or Tucker were certified pilots and the plane they were flying was from the Rome, NC area and is believed to have been either stolen or the men were unauthorized to use it, reports 14NEWS.
State police are working with the NTSB and FAA to try and piece together what occurred.
An autopsy is planned for the victims on Thursday.
