COLUMBINE, CO. (THECOUNT) — Sol Pais, has been captured after FBI and other law enforcement honed in on an area in Echo Lake, which is west of Denver at the base of Mount Evans. TheCount.com has not yet independently confirmed the apprehension.

At this time, it’s unclear what prompted the search in Echo Lake. KCNC says law enforcement is not allowing access to the parking area near Echo Lake Lodge, reports KKTV.

Authorities say a “potential credible threat” caused Columbine High School and other schools to go into full lockout mode on Tuesday.

Authorities say 18-year-old Sol Pais is armed and dangerous and was allegedly “infatuated with (the) Columbine school shooting,” according to The Denver Post. Authorities indicated that the teen traveled to Denver, Colorado from elsewhere and was attempting to buy firearms, Heavy reports.

With the 20th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting looming in just days, authorities are taking no chances.

Online records and one news site indicate that Pais is from Florida, specifically Surfside.

Anyone with possible information on Pais’ whereabouts should contact police immediately at 911.
