CHAMPAIGN, IL. (THECOUNT) — Destyni Thomas of Urbana, Illinois, has been identified as the University of Illinois at Champaign student killed after falling from the roof of a home near campus.
Thomas, 21, died after falling off a roof and on to her head while at a home near the school on W. John Street. Reports say she was visiting a friend when the fatal accident occurred Saturday.

The victim suffered head trauma after a fall and was transported to an area hospital.
Thomas was later pronounced dead of blunt force head trauma on Saturday.
Northrup says Champaign Police are investigating but that it appears the woman’s death was an accident.
Professor Bettina Francis says that Thomas was a senior at the school majoring in chemistry, reports NewsChannel20.
