PEMBERTON, BC. (THECOUNT) — Pro skier Dave Treadway has been identified as the victim killed Monday in the Pemberton backcountry near Whistler.
Treadway died after falling over 100 feet into a crevasse while doing what he loved. Pique News reports that he was backcountry skiing near Rhododendron Mountain in Squamish-Lillooet C, BC, Canada, at the time of the fatal plunge.
From GoFundMe page set up to support Dave’s Family:
On April 15, 2019 Dave Treadway was killed in a crevasse fall accident in the mountains of Pemberton, BC. Dave was a passionate individual who’s achievements in the mountains were only outweighed by his desire to show others the love of God. He did this by serving as a youth leader in his community and by leading as a professional skiing role model, reports UnofficialNetworks.
Dave’s immediate family, including his wife and his 3 children (ages 6, 2 and unborn) will inevitably face the realities of living without their bread winner. Dave and Tessa had very recently committed to buying a house in Golden BC.
Dave had a huge impact on many people and we encourage you to donate to a fund to support Dave’s wife and children in their future life.
