MANHATTAN BEACH, CA. (THECOUNT) — First photos have emerged showing Jacob Munn, the 30-year-old California father arrested for allegedly shooting dead the mother of his young son during a custody exchange at a local police station.

The fatal incident took place at around 6pm on Sunday outside the Hawthorne Police headquarters.

The afternoon shooting took place as the investigation was still underway into a gunfight between a Hawthorne police officer and a suspect in neighboring Manhattan Beach on Sunday morning that left both wounded, report KTLA.

The 27-year-old victim, named as Brenda Renteria this morning, died at the scene from a shotgun blast, reports DailyNews.

The officer was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.

KTLA is reporting that multiple sources reports shots fired near Rosecrans Avenue and Aviation Boulevard in Manhattan Beach on Sunday morning.

Several shots are heard in videos taken by a witness at a parking lot in the area.

Authorities have not provided any information, but many law enforcement officers are seen responding to the area.
