DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Shortly after asking for the public’s help in locating Drew Showers, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the body of a man believed to be him was found in the Bennington area on Friday.
Showers, 23, was last seen on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the same day he was arrested and released on a charge of DUI.
Showers was last seen by his family at their residence located in the area of 156th Avenue and Howard Lane, Bennington, Nebraska, reports WOWT.
Reports say, Showers departed his residence and was last seen possibly wearing a brown t-shirt and blue jeans. His location of travel is unknown.
Showers was arrested for DUI the night before his disappearance.
He is known to lawfully carry a firearm. A cause of death was not immediately provided.
