KENNEBEC COUNTY, ME. (THECOUNT) — Christian Yahnel, of Clinton, Maine, has been identified as the young man killed in a single-vehicle crash in Benton Maine Wednesday morning.
Yahnel, 20, was operating a vehicle traveling on Bangor Road in Benton, when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.
The vehicle then ran into a culvert and came to a rest after colliding with a substantial tree.
Yahnel was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, reports WMTW.
The investigation remains open into the cause of the crash and resulting death of the young husband and father of a newborn child.
Anyone with possible information on the fatal incident may contact police at 911.
