LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — “If you believe in prayer, please say one for me and for my surgeon,” said Inside Edition host Deborah Norville after announcing she will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid nodule from her neck, according to an announcement published by Inside Edition.
According to Inside Edition, a viewer reached out to say they found a noticeable lump on Norville’s neck.
“We live in a world of ‘see something, say something,’ and I’m really glad we do,” Norville said in a video message. “A long time ago, an Inside Edition viewer reached out to say she’d seen something on my neck. It was a lump,” reports ABCActionNews.
Norville said she immediately went to get it checked out. A doctor Norville visited told her it was nothing, but the Inside Edition anchor continued to get the lump looked at continually.
“For years it was nothing, until recently, it was something,” Norville said.
Norville said in her announcement it is a “very localized form of cancer,” and she will have surgery Tuesday to have removed.
“There will be no chemo, I’m told no radiation, but I will have surgery and I’ll be away for a bit,” she said.
Norville said in her announcement that Diane McInerney will “holding down the fort.”
