WIMAUMA, FL. (THECOUNT) — Jeffrey Ringle has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle hit-and-run crash Saturday in Wimauma, Florida.
A female passenger on the Harley Davidson motorcycle, later identified as 48-year-old Megan Ringle, was listed in serious condition after being transported to an area hospital.
Reports say, “Jeff” Rangel was operating a motorcycle with his wife as a passenger on US-301 south of Sun City Center Blvd after 10 a.m., when a vehicle attempting to pass in a no-passing zone, collided with the bike causing it to crash.
The impact threw Jeff and Megan onto the roadway shoulder.
The vehicle then fled the scene leaving the couple injured in the roadway.
Jeff was also transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
No vehicle description was provided by officials.
The investigation is ongoing.
