AMARILLO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Laura Almanza, of Lubbock and Adam Taulbee of Austin, Texas have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal crash in Amarillo on Monday morning.

Taulbee, 28, was operating a tow truck when he collided with a semi-tractor while on FM-1541 Monday.

The semi was backing into the loading dock of Affiliated Foods, Inc, on West Farmers Avenue, in Amarillo, TX, when officials say, Taulbee and his passenger, 28-year-old Almanza, struck the International semi-truck.

The tow truck then traveled underneath the towed semi-trailer of the first vehicle, causing the cab to be removed from the tow truck, reports MyHighPlains.

Both passengers of the tow truck were were pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
