BELL COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Keila Ruby Flores has been identified as the Texas woman killed Sunday morning after a rock thrown from an overpass entered a vehicle in which she was a passenger.
Flores, 32, died Sunday morning after she was hit by a rock thrown from a railroad overpass on I-35 between exits 303 and 305 in Temple, while riding as a passenger in a vehicle Sunday morning, officials said.
The rock reportedly crashed through the windshield causing fatal injuries, according to KHOU.
Police said four family members were also in the vehicle at the time of the fatal incident.
Flores was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma head injuries.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, however, no current description or names of any suspects were provided by police.
