Morganton, GA. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Lee Fults has been identified as the suspect in grave condition following a Fannin County, GA murder attempted-suicide that took the life of 31-year-old Amber Jackson and her three-year-old son.

If Fults, 35, survives, he will face murder charges after being found on the front porch area of a north Georgia mountains residence suffering from a shotgun wound to the head.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation sad the sad incident appears to be a botched murder/suicide.

Deputies say they responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment building in Morganton.

Upon arrival, investigators located the bodies of a female and a three-year-old boy on the front steps of a unit.

Fults was also on the porch suffering from serious gunshot injuries.

Investigators determined Fults likely shot the woman and child and then unsuccessfully attempted to take his own life by turning the gun on himself.

He was transported to an area hospital where he is in listed in critical condition.

Sheriff’s officers have taken out a warrant against him for the murder of Jackson, with more charges pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
