GREENSBORO, NC. (THECOUNT) — Page High School student Sincere Davis has died following a shooting on the night of March 2, according to a news release from Greensboro police.
The Walter Hines Page High School football team has previously released a daunting announcement on Facebook Monday saying one of its players urgently “needed prayers,” but stopped short of revealing who it was or exactly what occurred. Greensboro police are now investigating the shooting as a homicide.

The team released only the player’s jersey number, #26. Sincere Davis, popular Page HS running back, is the player that wears that number.
The team asked for prayers on Facebook:
Pirate Nation call out for all prayers tonight as one of our Pirates is in the fight for his life. #26fighter #prayersfor26
School officials have not released details around this incident, reports MyFox8.
