STONINGTON, CT. (THECOUNT) — Larry Stallings and Melvin Wells have been identified as the victims following a multi-vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 in Stonington, Connecticut on Saturday night.

Stallings, 32, of Bristol, was operating a vehicle traveling northbound on the southbound side of I-95 near Exit 90, when he collided with Wells, 55, of Hamden, who was operating a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

A passenger in Stallings vehicle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Wells and Stallings were pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the violent crash.

Two other vehicles were involved in the crash, but none of those passengers suffered serious injuries, according to reporting by WFSB.

The investigation is ongoing.
